Legal Fees
There are several types of attorney fee arrangements: (i) time-based; (ii) fixed; and, (iii) contingent. "Time-based" means a fee that is determined by the amount of time involved. "Fixed" means a fee that is based on an agreed amount regardless of the time or the results obtained. "Contingent" means a certain agreed percentage is payable only upon attaining a recovery. The majority of our clients are represented on a contingency fee basis, rather than an hourly fee, and clients are not responsible for out-of-pocket expenses unless there is a recovery and unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.
